We journey through our whole entire life, seeking wisdom and the ability to understand life as we know it. From that first moment of our journey for greatness, we search endlessly, seeking to become someone special, someone who would make a difference and be remembered for many years to come or someone who would make changes to many people's lives…
The wisdom to understand the universe and all it has to offer seems to elude us as we venture forward into the unknown. Most of the journey seems long and arduous, along with the treacheries, causes us to feel as though our goal will never be reached or the things we seek are just outside our grasp.
As we arrive at that point in time, the truth is finally revealed unto us. What we sought diligently for a lifetime and could never seem to find was always close by. The true revelation that takes place is that we realize that the greatness that we sought for in the world was inside us all along. The world was merely a learning process that helps us to refine the knowledge we discovered along the way and fine tune the wisdom that is inside us.
All of us are precious stones, awaiting life experiences to polish us up, ready for display to the rest of the world. When we finally realize our true greatness, and the knowledge of life and all it has to offer is revealed unto us because we then open our eyes and see more clearly the things around us.
True greatness comes from within. It is with us from birth and spends a lifetime trying to reach the surface, where it is nurtured and refined as we mature into adulthood. This greatness is the ability to take all the tings we have learned and experienced in our lifetime and apply them to ourselves and come up with what best suited for us and our needs. This is a sign of true greatness.
4GY of Class 2006, we are born great, we will achieve greatness and we definitely have greatness thrust upon us. But, keep in mind, humility is the key to success, only with humility, will you gain peoples' respect, and only with humility will you be able to rise (reference to the poem: I Rise.)
Let us be "wise enough to play the fool"
(-Viola in Twelfth Night, Act 3 Scene1, Line 52)
Remember last year, Ms Soh was saying some stuff about true greatness, well I cannot place a finger exactly because I only remember her vaguely mentioning this topic, and whilst I was hunting my lit notes down just five minutes ago, I felt so compelled to type this down before I lose what I want to say. Well, it is back to the drawing board, I have to go "hunt", and when I find my notes, I will be "turned into a hart, and my desires, like fell and cruel hounds, e'er pursue me." "Methought [ms soh's notes purged the air of pestilence" (-Orsino, Twelfth Night, Act 1 Scene 1, Line 20-23)
OKAY, enough of Twelfth Night.
By the way, God is awesome. He is really great. I felt Him this morning when I was trying to sleep. (sounds wrong,) I prayed that I really needed to fall asleep, and I actually believed that He would help me, in comparison to previously when I would just say a short brief prayer, crossed my fingers and tried to sleep. But it was magical and miraculous. Yeah, I do not really know how to put it in words, just wanted to share my 'happiness', like the last Higher Chinese test, hur hur. Okay, bye bye.
And if anyone wakes up early, and have a few minutes to spare, take your phone and dial 8 numbers, only 8 numbers to try to wake Sarah up. THANKS.
Okay, back to digging out Ms Soh's wonderful notes that she spent so much time doing, (not the waste 25 minute of precious class time to rush out a handout that is messy and bad quality printing). Not like you will ever see this blog/entry. But THANK YOU MISS SOH. (ps: I miss Ms Soh, tremendously, do you?)
Love, Majella (:
